AMOR CORTESE - GIVEAWAY - N. 2

Ogni promessa è un debito e come tale vanno mantenute sempre. Così ecco il secondo Giveaway... anzi non si può più dire questa parola in Italia, quindi mi scuserete se d'ora in poi lo chiamerò "Regalo" o "Evento". Dunque questo secondo regalo riguarda uno dei primi libri che ho fatto in una edizione rinnovata soprattutto all'interno. Completamente ridimensionato e migliorato, è un libro a cui sono particolarmente affezionata: "Francesca da Rimini" di Gabriele D'Annunzio.

The Second Giveaway is one of the first books made with a new English Edition (only the cover respect the original vintage design used for the old book: "Francesca of Rimini". I love this book and the story of these two lovers.

Yöpöytä, Bedside table

Yöpöydän, lampun ja lasipurkin olen ostanut jo muutama vuosi sitten. Täytyy tunnustaa, että en kertakaikkiaan muista mistä. 
Lasipurkkiin kuivasin pihassamme olevasta Juhannusruususta kukan terälehtiä. Ovat minusta kuivattuinakin kauniin värisiä.

The bedside table, lamp and the glass jar I have bought already several years ago. I must confess that I don't remember where.
In the jar there are dried rose leaves from our Midsummer rose bush. The colours of the leaves are beautiful, even dried.

Kampauspöytä, Dresser

Kampauspöydässä oli alunperin pyöreä peili, mutta se oli niin matalalla, että tein tilalle isomman. Muodoksi oli pakko valita suorakaide, muu ei olisi mahtunut.
Pöytä on maalattu Plaidin Antique White -maalilla.
Vaihdoin myös laatikkojen nupit. Ne ovat nuppineulojen päitä.
Ruusut istutin Oxygenol-hammastahnatuubin korkkeihin. Viime joulun IKEA-kuvastossa oli hyvin samalaisia kukkaruukkuja!
Parfyymipullot ovat erimuotoisista helmistä.
Kullanvärisen peilin, kamman ja harjan olen ostanut, mutta en enää muista mistä.
Kaula- ja rannekorut tein myös pienistä helmistä. Niiden joukossa on kaksinkertaisesta kullanvärisestä metallilangasta kieputettu rannekoru, mutta se näkyy kuvassa tosi huonosti.

Orginally the dresser had a round mirror, but it was so low that I made taller one. I had to make the mirror rectangle, because other shapes don't fit in that small place.
The dresser is painted with Plaid's Antique White paint.
I changed also the knobs. They are pin heads.
The roses I planted in Oxygenol tooth paste (Finnish brand) caps. In last Christmas's IKEA catalogue were almost similar pots.
The perfume bottles are all beads of different shapes.
The golden mirror, comb and brust I have bought, but I don't remember where.
The light pink necklace and bracelet are also made from beads.
The golden bracelet I swirled from twofold metal thread. It is so thin that it is difficult to se it in the photo.

Lehti, Magazine

Tilasin yhden numeron (1/2012) norjalaista sisustuslehteä Vakre Hjem och Interior. Nyt en enää ihmettele, että sitä on kovasti kehuttu. Kauniita koteja, hienoja pihapiirejä ja upeat kuvat. 

I ordered one copy (1/2012) of Norwegian magazine named Vakre Hjem och Interior. Now I don't wonder no more, why people praise it. Beautiful homes, lovely gardens and splendid photos.

Kukkamakuuhuone, Flower bedroom

Ennen kuin aloitan Villa Ainon keittiön, kerron pienoishuoneesta, jota olen tehnyt vähävähältä silloin tällöin.
Olet voinut nähdä tämän "Kukkaismakuuhuoneen" mukanani markkinoilla.
Nyt huone alkaa olla valmis, vaikka varmaan jotain pientä täydennystä voi vielä tulla.
Ensimmäiseksi tällainen yleiskuva. Kerron myöhemmin yksityiskohdista.

Before I start with Villa Aino's kitchen, I tell you about the room box, which I have made now and then little by little. 
You may have seen this "Flower bedroom" with me at fairs.
Now the room is quite completed, although I'll add some more finishing touches later.
First the general picture. I'll write later about the details.

Markkinat, Fairs

This summer I am at the Lahti Fair but also at the Forssa Fair. The Lahti Miniature Fair is on Saturday the 9th of June. The Forssa Old Time Toy Fair is on Sunday the 29th of July.

Lehtilaatikko, Box for the Newspapers

Eteisessä pitää olla laatikko vanhoille sanomalehdille. Tämä on tehty yhdestä spaattelista ja pienestä vanerin kappaleesta.

In the hall there has to be the box for the old newspapers. This is made from one spatula and a tiny piece of plywood.

Pipo ja kaulaliina, Woolly hat and muffler

Löysin sentään jotakin vaatetelineeseen. Pipon ja kaulaliinan olen neulonut kauan sitten. Kiitos, Sigrid, langasta. Se on juuri oikeanlaista minineuleisiin.

I found the woolly hat and the muffler to put on the hat rack. I have knitted them long time ago. Thank you, Sigrid, for the thread. It is just right for the mini knits.

Koruja, Jewellery

Ostan tosi harvoin koruja, mutta nämä oli saatava Hopeakuu-nettikaupasta. Korujen materiaalina on kupari ja kiinalaiset jokikivet.

I bought very seldom jewellery, but these were a must from Hopeakuu online shop. The materials are copper and Chinese river rocks.

Telineitä, Racks

Eteisen telineet valmiina vaatteille ja kengille.

Tyynyjä, Cushions

Nyt sohvalla on mukavampi istua, koska virkkasin siihen kaksi tyynyä. Kummassakin tyynyssä on kymmenen Isoäidin neliötä. Takakappaleiksi ompelin vihreää huopaa.

Now it is comfortabler to sit on the coach, because I crocheted two cushions to it. There are ten Grandma's Squares in both cushions. I sewed green felt to the back sides.

Eteisen sohva, Hall couch

Eteiseen tarvitaan kunnon istuin. Tämä metallisohva oli alkujaan valkoinen puutarhakaluste. Maalasin sen taitelija-akryylimaalilla. joka ei tarttunut kovin helposti kaikkiin kohtiin. Tulos on epätasainen, mutta ei se haittaa - ainakaan paljon.

To the hall one needs a proper seat. This metal couch was orginally a garden furniture. I painted it with the artist acryl paint, which didn't attached very well. The surface remained uneven, but I think that it is not a problem.

Kirjoja, Books

Olin heittämässä vanhaa puhelinluetteloa pois, kun muistin jostakin blogista, että siitä voisi tehdä kirjoja.
Revin kannet pois ja yritin repiä sopivan paksuisia paloja. Se ei ollut hyvä tapa, koska luettelon selän liimaus lähti samalla ja sivut irtosivat.
Veitsellä leikkaamalla liimaus säilyi.
Luettelon marginaali on juuri sopivan kokoinen 1:12 kirjaksi. Palat ovat n. 1,5 cm korkeita.
Liimasin ensin kansiksi pahvinpalat ja sitten nahkaa.
Liimaukset kannatti tehdä kansi, pohja ja kansi kerrallaan ja antaa kuivua joka välissä. Näin kannet ja nahkapalat sai napakasti kiinni.

I was throwing the old phone catalogue away, when I remembered from someone's blog, that one can make books from it.
I tried to tear off suitable pieces, but it wasn't good way, because the glued back part of the catalogue loosened also and the pages fell off.
With knife and cutting the glued back held together.
The catalogue's marginal without the print is just right size for 1:12 scale book. The books are about 1,5 cm height.
I glued first the cartoon for the inside covers and after that the leather. 
It was wise to glue first the cover, then the back and so on and let the glue dry after every use. So it was easier to get all the covers firm in their places.

Tampereen Taikasormet, Magic Fingers Fair

Pari viikkoa sitten olleilta Tampereen Taikasormet-messuilta ostin uusimman MIniaturas-lehden.

Lehdessä on todella upeat kuvat. Tekstiä on vähän. Se sopii minulle hyvin, kun en osaa espanjaa yhtään. Lehti on Nukkekoti ja Lelun valikoimista. Sieltä löytyi myös helmiä.

Lisäksi ostin erilaisia kukkalankoja ja kultaista, ohutta lankaa. Kannattaa olla varovainen "kultalangan" puolan kanssa, ettei käy kuten minulle.

Neppareita ajattelin käyttää pyörinä. Laatikko on retroa retrompi.

 Pienet napit ostin varastoon. Niiden halkaisija on kolme mm.

Elinalla oli myynnissä nauhoja. Niiden värit ovat kertakaikkisen herkulliset.

Ainoa miniatyyri, jonka ostin, oli pieni termospulllo. Made in Sweden?

Two weeks ago there where The Magic Fingers Fair in Tampere. I bought the newest Miniaturas magazine. The photos are great. The text parts are short, but it is fine with me, because I can't Spanish at all. The magazine is from Nukkekoti ja Lelu.
From their assortment I found also pearls, florist's wires and thin, golden wire. One has to handle the spool of the golden wire very carefully, so that don't happen like this!
The snap fasteners I have thought to use as wheels. The cartoon is really retro, indeed.
The buttons I put in my stock.
The only miniature, which I got this time, was the thermos bottle. Made in Sweden?

Torikoju-kisa, Market Stall Competition

En ole kirjoittanut pitkään aikaan, koska ilmoittauduin Päijät-Hämeen Nukkekotiharrastajien Torikoju-kisaan. Kojun tekeminen on vienyt kaiken liikenevän ajan. On myös kiellettyä esitellä työtä ennen kuin kilpailu päättyy 9.6.12, joten palataan tähän asiaan myöhemmin.

I haven't written for a while, because I entered myself to the Market Stall competition. It has took all my spare time. It is also forbidden to show the work before the competition ends on the 9 th of June. So I'll tell about all this later.
