Yöpöytä, Bedside table

Yöpöydän, lampun ja lasipurkin olen ostanut jo muutama vuosi sitten. Täytyy tunnustaa, että en kertakaikkiaan muista mistä. 
Lasipurkkiin kuivasin pihassamme olevasta Juhannusruususta kukan terälehtiä. Ovat minusta kuivattuinakin kauniin värisiä.

The bedside table, lamp and the glass jar I have bought already several years ago. I must confess that I don't remember where.
In the jar there are dried rose leaves from our Midsummer rose bush. The colours of the leaves are beautiful, even dried.

Kampauspöytä, Dresser

Kampauspöydässä oli alunperin pyöreä peili, mutta se oli niin matalalla, että tein tilalle isomman. Muodoksi oli pakko valita suorakaide, muu ei olisi mahtunut.
Pöytä on maalattu Plaidin Antique White -maalilla.
Vaihdoin myös laatikkojen nupit. Ne ovat nuppineulojen päitä.
Ruusut istutin Oxygenol-hammastahnatuubin korkkeihin. Viime joulun IKEA-kuvastossa oli hyvin samalaisia kukkaruukkuja!
Parfyymipullot ovat erimuotoisista helmistä.
Kullanvärisen peilin, kamman ja harjan olen ostanut, mutta en enää muista mistä.
Kaula- ja rannekorut tein myös pienistä helmistä. Niiden joukossa on kaksinkertaisesta kullanvärisestä metallilangasta kieputettu rannekoru, mutta se näkyy kuvassa tosi huonosti.

Orginally the dresser had a round mirror, but it was so low that I made taller one. I had to make the mirror rectangle, because other shapes don't fit in that small place.
The dresser is painted with Plaid's Antique White paint.
I changed also the knobs. They are pin heads.
The roses I planted in Oxygenol tooth paste (Finnish brand) caps. In last Christmas's IKEA catalogue were almost similar pots.
The perfume bottles are all beads of different shapes.
The golden mirror, comb and brust I have bought, but I don't remember where.
The light pink necklace and bracelet are also made from beads.
The golden bracelet I swirled from twofold metal thread. It is so thin that it is difficult to se it in the photo.

Kukkamakuuhuone, Flower bedroom

Ennen kuin aloitan Villa Ainon keittiön, kerron pienoishuoneesta, jota olen tehnyt vähävähältä silloin tällöin.
Olet voinut nähdä tämän "Kukkaismakuuhuoneen" mukanani markkinoilla.
Nyt huone alkaa olla valmis, vaikka varmaan jotain pientä täydennystä voi vielä tulla.
Ensimmäiseksi tällainen yleiskuva. Kerron myöhemmin yksityiskohdista.

Before I start with Villa Aino's kitchen, I tell you about the room box, which I have made now and then little by little. 
You may have seen this "Flower bedroom" with me at fairs.
Now the room is quite completed, although I'll add some more finishing touches later.
First the general picture. I'll write later about the details.

Makuuhuoneen ikkunaan koriste, The Decoration to the bedroom's window

Äitini löysi tällaisen korvakorun osan aika päiviä sitten. Olen itsekin säilyttänyt sitä varmaankin 10 vuotta. Nyt tein siitä koristeen Villa Ainon makuuhuoneen ikkunaan.

My mother has found this part of earring very, very long time ago. I have also kept it no doubt 10 years. Now I made of it this decoration to the Villa Aino's bedroom's window.

Makuuhuoneen verhot, The bedroom's curtains

Vihdoin olen saanut valmiiksi makuuhuoneen verhot. Ne eivät laskeudu ihan niin hyvin kuin toivon, mutta tämä on tätä aina kankaiden kanssa. Verhot ovat valkoista batistia ja rusetit kaksi millimetriä leveää silkkinauhaa. Kankaan olen ostanut paikallisesta kangasputiikista ja silkkinauhan Doloresilta.

At last I got ready the bedroom's curtains. They don't drape as well as I wish, but this is it always with fabrics. The curtains are white batiste and the bows are made of two millimetres wide silk ribbon. I have bought the fabric from the local haberdashery and the silk ribbon is from Dolores.

Makuuhuoneen vuodevaatteet, The Bedroom's linen

Irrotin sängyn mukana tulleen patjan ja tyynyn. Tein niiden tilalle puuvillapatjan, jonka täytteenä on vanulevyä. Tyynyt ompelin vähän tummemmasta kankaasta kuin patjan. Aluslakanan päärmäsin ja taittelin patjan alle. Tyynyliinoihin ja pussilakanaan ompelin koristeeksi organzanauhaa.

I took off the matress and pillow, which were on the bed, when I bought it. I made instead cotton mattress. It is filled with sheet of wadding. The pillows I sewed from slightly darker fabric.
I seamed the sheet and folded it around the mattress. For the decoration I sewed to the duvet cover and the pillow cases organza ribbon.

Makuuhuoneen tuolit, The bedroom's chairs

Ajattelin näitä metallisia korituoleja makuuhuoneeseen. Ne on ostettu kauan aikaa sitten Piirongista. Leikkasin tyynyiksi palat vihreää huopaa. Nyt tuolit näyttävät siltä kuin niistä kasvaisi ruohoa. Ei hyvä, täytyy tehdä uudet tyynyt!

I thought these metal wicker chairs to the bedroom. I have bought them long time ago from Piironki. I cut for the cushions pieces of felt. Now the chairs look like they are growing grass. Not good, I have to make new cushions!

Makuuhuoneen lipasto, The bedroom's chest of drawers

Euro Minisin puuvalmis lipasto on saanut pintaansa harmaan (oma sekoitus) ja vihreän (Plaidin Wedgewood Green) maalin. Mustista nuppineuloista tein vetimet. Laatikot ovat nyt tyhjiä, mutta toivottavasti saan niihin monenlaista mukavaa ajan myötä.

The bedroom's chest of drawers is unvarnished one from Euro Minis. I painted it with grey (my own mixture) and green (Plaid's Wedgewood Green). Black knobs are pins. The drawers are now empty, but I hope I can fill them sooner or later.

Makuuhuoneen tulisija, The bedroom's stove

Olen tehnyt pönttöuunin rakennusmuovin kartonkirullasta. Rulla oli paksua ja tukevaa. Uuninluukut ovat ohutta metallilevyä. Ne eivät aukene. Luukkujen nupit tein mustista nuppineuloista. Pellinpää ja vetonaru ovat korunosia.
Rullan olen päällystänyt paperilla, teipillä ja tarranauhalla sekä maalannut Plaidin antiikkivalkoisella akryylivärillä.

The stove is made from the cardboard centre of a building plastic roll. The roll was thick and sturdy. The stove doors are thin metal pieces. The doors don't open. The door knobs are black pins. The side parts are pieces of jewellery. I have coated the roll with paper, tape and peel-off motif. After that I painted the stove with Plaid's Antique White acrylic paint.

Villa Ainon makuuhuone, Villa Aino's bedroom

Makuuhuoneen kalustaminen on melkoinen haaste. Huoneeseen tulevat portaat toisesta kerroksesta. Ne vievät oman tilansa. Katto on erikoisen muotoinen. Huonekorkeus on tästä syystä osittain hyvin pieni.
Saa nähdä, mitä huoneeseen loppujen lopuksi mahtuu!

Furnishing this bedroom is a big challenge. The stairs from the first floor take their space. The roof's shape is unusual. That's why the room height is in some parts of the room very low.
