Vierashuone valmis, The Quest room completed

Aurinko paistoi kauniisti ja ajattelin, että nyt on hyvä hetki ottaa valokuvia valmiista Villa Ainon vierashuoneesta. Ei näistä kuvista hyviä tullut. Huoneen takaosa jää epäselväksi, kun valoa ei ole vieläkään tarpeeksi. Toivottavasti näistä kuitenkin saa jonkinlaisen käsityksen huoneesta.
Kun katson, tajuan että verho täytyy vaihtaa. Se on kamala!

The sun shone beautifully and I thought that now is fine moment to take the photos of Villa Aino's completed guest room. The photos aren't good. The back of the room is unclear. There isn't still enough light. Anyway I hope that these photos give you some kind of idea about this room.
When I look at the photos I realize that I must change the curtain. It is awful!

Vierashuone on nyt "valmis".
Otin kuvat pienoishuoneessa, kun valo ei riittänyt Villa Ainossa. Pitää ottaa uudet, varsinaiset kuvat kesällä.
Huonekalut eivät ole näissä kuvissa samassa järjestyksessä kuin ne tulevat olemaan Villa Ainossa.

The quest room is "ready".
I took the photos in a room box. Now there isn't enough light in Villa Aino. I'll take another pictures next summer.
The order of the furniture isn't same than it will be in the Villa Aino.

Vielä muutama tavara vierashuoneeseen.
Vaaleanpunaisen korin olen punonut virkkauslangasta. Ohje on Sheila Smithin kirjasta Making 1/12 Scale Wicker Furniture.
Kauniita Unia -kyltti on tehty Tiimarin hyvin punaisesta leppäkerttukyltistä. Harmi kyllä, leppäkerttu oli liian iso 1/12 kokoon.
Lahjalaatikon ja säilytyslaatikon materiaaleina ovat ohut pahvi ja paperi.

Yet some accessories for the quest room.
I have weaved the light red basket from the crocheting yarn. The instruction is in Sheila Smith's book Making 1/12 Scale Wicker Furniture.
Kauniita Unia (=Sweet Dreams) sign was at first really red coloured and it had a small ladybug on it. Unfortunaltely the ladybug was too big for the 1/12 scale.
The gift box's and the storage box's materials are thin cardboard and paper.

These linen towels are for the quests. The basket is one of my first wicker works (and you can really see it!).

Vierashuoneen viherkasvi, The Quest room's plant

Yksi viherkasvi piti saada mahtumaan vierashuoneeseen. Huonekasvi on "Jukka-palmu". Se on tehty metallilangasta, teipistä ja lautasliinapaperista. Ruukun olen ostanut.
Kukkapylvään tein kuvan materiaaleista.

I wanted to fit into the quest room one plant. The plant is "Yacca palm". It is made from wire, tape and napkin paper. The pot I have bought.

Tein vierashuoneeseen kokoelman hajuvesi- ja kosmetiikkapulloja helmistä ja korunosista. Olisi mukava, jos näihin vielä saisi jollakin keinolla etiketit. Koristepullojen tekeminen on tosi mukavaa hommaa.
Tein pulloille myös pienen laatikon. Maalasin sen kuparinvärisellä Humbrol Enamel -maalilla.

For the quest room I made this collection of perfume and cosmetics bottles. It would be nice, if I could get also the labels on them. I like very much make little bottles from pearls and jewellery parts.
I made also box for the bottles. I painted it with Humbrol Enamel paint. The colour is copper.

Peili tulee vierashuoneen pesupöydän päälle ja korurasia kaapin päälle. Rasian olen tehnyt pahvista ja Tiimarin koristepaperista sekä "lukon" korun osasta. Rasian sisällä on pitkä helminauha.

The mirror I'll put on the quest room's wash stand and the jewellery box on the closet. I have made the jewellery box from cardboard and scrapbook paper and the lock is a part of jewellery. In the box there is one long pearl chain.

Vierashuoneen kirjahylly on tehty jäätelötikuista. Kirjat on leikattu paksusta pahvista ja päällystetty paperilla tai teipillä. Tämä työtapa tekee kirjoista paljon luettujen pokkareiden oloisia.

The quest room's book shelf I have made from ice cream sticks. The books I have cut from thick carton and covered with paper or tape. This way to create books makes them look like the pocket books, which have read a lot.

Vierashuoneen matto, The Quest room's carpet

Vierashuoneen matto on tehty jäännöslangoista. Tästä syystä se on näin pastellinsävyinen. Onneksi tällä kertaa lankoja oli tarpeeksi. Malli on omani.

The quest room's carpet I made from "left over" threads. That is the reason why it is so pastel coloured. Luckily this time I had enough threads. The pattern is mine.

Vierashuoneen yöpöytä, The Quest room's bedside table

Yöpöytä oli alun perin olohuonekalustesarjan osa ja väriltään tummanruskea. Maalasin sen yhteensopivaksi sängyn kanssa.

The bedside table was originally one part of the living room's furniture set and its colour was dark brown. I painted it with same colours than the bed.

Vierashuoneen pyyhkeet olen taitellut tosi vanhasta puuvillakankaasta = jo aika ohutta. Nippu on sidottu yhteen silkkinauhalla. Pesukannu ja -vati ovat Euro Minisin valikoimista, samoin kukkavaasi. Kukkakimpussa on kangasruusuja ja muovista "vihreää".

Quest room's towels I have folded from very old cotton fabric = quite thin. The towel bundle I have tied up with silk ribbon. The wash jug and basin are from the Euro Minis collection, also the flower vase. In the flower bunch there are fabric roses and plastic "green".

Vierashuoneen kaappi, The Quest room's closet

Vierashuoneen kaapin olen löytänyt Lidlistä! Sahasin sivuseinistä listat pois, koska vierashuoneessa ei ole yhtään ylimääräistä tilaa. Kaappi sai sinistä akryylimaalia pintaansa. Vaihdoin myös nupit. Alalaatikko ei aukea. Pienet jalat ovat puuhelmiä, jotka myös maalasin. Laseina ohuet muoviliuskat.

I have found the quest room's closet from Lidl. I sawed the sidewall's mouldings away, because there is no extra space in the room. I painted the closet with blue acrylic paint and changed the knops. The drawer do not open. The legs are wood pearls, which I also painted. The glasses are thin plastic sheets.

Päiväpeitto, The Bedspread

Päiväpeiton olen virkannut Venne Colcoton -lankasta. Peitto on koottu 24 Isoäidin neliöistä. Jätin peiton tarkoituksella lyhyeksi, jotta pussilakana näkyisi.

The bedspread I have crocheted from Venne Colcoton yarn. There is 24 Grandma's squares. I left the bedspread short, because I like that the duvet cover is seen.

Nyt vierashuoneen sängyssä on pussilakana. Olen ommellut sen kahdesta kankaasta. Toinen on pallo- ja toinen kukkakuvioinen. Yläreunaan kankaiden sauman päälle olen laittanut pitsin.

Now on the quest room's bed is the duvet cover. I have sewed the cover from two fabrics. The one is ball patterned and the other is floral patterned. On the seam between the fabrics I have sewed the lace.

Tyyny ja liina, The Pillow and the pillow case

Tässä tyyny ja tyynyliina. Tyynyn tein samasta kankaasta kuin patjan.

Here the pillow and the pillow case. I sewed the pillow from the same fabric than the mattress.

Vierashuoneen vuode, The Quest room's bed

Ompeluhuoneeseen tulee vielä joitakin esineitä, mutta nyt on aika kurkistaa vierashuoneeseen. Vierashuoneen sängyn olen tehnyt itse, maalannut sinisellä akryylivärillä ja piirtänyt myös kukkakuviot akryyleillä ja ohuen ohuella pensselillä.

Patjan olen ommellut puuvillakankaasta ja vanylevystä.

The sewing room is still missing some furniture and things, but now it is time to go to the quest room.
I have made the quest room's bed. I painted it with blue acrylic paint. I also drew the flowers with acrylic paints and with very thin painbrush.
The mattress I have sewed from cotton fabric and flock sheet.
