Villa Ainon kirjastoon löytyi kirja-alesta koko sarja Harry Pottereita.

From the book sale has been found to Villa Aino's library the whole series of Harry Potter books.

Kirjoja, Books

Olin heittämässä vanhaa puhelinluetteloa pois, kun muistin jostakin blogista, että siitä voisi tehdä kirjoja.
Revin kannet pois ja yritin repiä sopivan paksuisia paloja. Se ei ollut hyvä tapa, koska luettelon selän liimaus lähti samalla ja sivut irtosivat.
Veitsellä leikkaamalla liimaus säilyi.
Luettelon marginaali on juuri sopivan kokoinen 1:12 kirjaksi. Palat ovat n. 1,5 cm korkeita.
Liimasin ensin kansiksi pahvinpalat ja sitten nahkaa.
Liimaukset kannatti tehdä kansi, pohja ja kansi kerrallaan ja antaa kuivua joka välissä. Näin kannet ja nahkapalat sai napakasti kiinni.

I was throwing the old phone catalogue away, when I remembered from someone's blog, that one can make books from it.
I tried to tear off suitable pieces, but it wasn't good way, because the glued back part of the catalogue loosened also and the pages fell off.
With knife and cutting the glued back held together.
The catalogue's marginal without the print is just right size for 1:12 scale book. The books are about 1,5 cm height.
I glued first the cartoon for the inside covers and after that the leather. 
It was wise to glue first the cover, then the back and so on and let the glue dry after every use. So it was easier to get all the covers firm in their places.

Työhuone valmis, The Work room ready

Villa Ainon työhuone on "valmis". Laitoin huonekalut ym. kuvausboxiin, koska minulla on edelleen vaikeuksia saada kuvia nukkekodin sisältä. Kuvat jäävät kovin tummiksi.

Villa Aino's work room is ready. I put the furniture etc. to the photo roombox, because I still have difficulties to get good pictures from the dolls' house. The photos are too dark.

Salkkuja, The Briefcases

Työhuoneessa pitää tietysti olla asiakirjasalkku. Löysin malliksi mieheni vanhan, kouluaikaisen salkun (runsaan 40 vuoden takaa).
Tein ensiksi yhden salkun, sitten toisen. No, loppujen lopuksi tein niitä 20 kappaletta. Kaksi työhuoneeseen ja loput Forssan markkinoille.

In the work room there has to be a briefcase. I found my husband's old school briefcase (it is over 40 years old) and took the pattern from it.
First I made one and then another. At last I had made 20 altogether. Two for the work room and the rest for the Fair in Forssa.

TV-taso, The Table for TV set

TV työhuoneessa oli mielestäni liian matalalla. Tein pienen tason televion alle. Liimasin kolme puupalaa yhteen ja maalasin akryylimaalisekoituksella, jossa oli oranssia ja tummaa ruskeaa.
Näin sain tuollaisen punertavan sävyn.

I thought that the TV set in the workroom was too low. I made that little table so I can put the TV set on it. I glued three wood pieces together and painted the table with acrylic paint, which I mixed from orange and dark brown. So I got that reddish shade.

Lahjakassit, The Gift bags

Olen löytänyt kauan aikaa sitten jostakin blogista näin sievät lahjakassiprintit. Harmi, etten muista mistä.

I have found long time ago from someone's blog these pretty gift bag prints. What a pity, that I can't remember where.

Juliste, The Poster

Nämä liput ovat löytyneet varmaankin jostain lehdestä. Valitettavasti en muista mistä. Tein niistä julisteen työhuoneen seinälle.

I found these flags probably from some magazine. Sorry, I can't remember from where. I made a poster of them to the workroom.

Työhuoneen ilmoitustaulu, The Workroom's notice board

Tein työhuoneeseen tämän ilmoitustaulun. Sen koko on n. 5,5 x 3,5 cm. Materiaaleina ovat puulista. pellavakangas ja pahvi.
Perhoskuvat, kirjeen, kortit ja muistilaput kiinnitin liimalla taululle.

I made for the workroom this notice board. It's size is about 5,5 x 3,5 centimetres. The materials are wood moulding, linen fabric and cardboard.
The butterfly pictures, letter, cards and crib sheets I glued on the notice board.

Kirjoitusalusta nro 2, The writing pad number 2

Tässä toinen versio kirjoitusalustasta. Olen tehnhyt siihen mukaan pienen kirjan.

This is another version of the writing pad. Now on it is also the little book, which I have made.

Uusia varusteita työhuoneeseen, Some new equipment to the workroom

Tässä työhuoneen uusia varusteita.
Lisäsin paperit tulostimeen. Liimasin ne Aleene's Tacky Gluella.
Fimosta sai yllättävän aidonnäköistä suklaata.
Paperikoria tein liki kolme tuntia. Tämä taitaa olla viides versio!

Here are some new equipment for the workroom.
I added paper to the printer. I glued it with Aleene's Tacky Glue.
I think that the "Fimo-chocolate" seems quite realistic.
It took almost three hours to make that waste-paper basket. This is the fifth version!

Työhuoneen pöytä nro 2 ja työtuoli, The Workroom's desk number 2 and the chair

Tämän pöydän ja tuolin olen ostanut Minimum Worldistä. Pöydän päällä oli suhteettoman suuri näyttöruutu. Lisälevyn päällä oli näppäimistö ja kaapin alahyllyllä keskusyksikkö. Otin ne kaikki pois. Seurauksena liiman raapusta ja maalausta. Onnistuin kuitenkin sekoittamaan oranssista ja ruskeasta melko samanvärisen maalin kuin alkuperäinen petsauskin on.

I have bought the desk and the chair from Minimum World. On the desk there was really big monitor, below it the keyboard and on the shelf the case of the desktop computer. I took all the parts away. As a consequence I had to rub out glue and paint those surfaces. Anyhow I managed mix the paint almost same as the original colour from orange and brown.

Kirjoitusalusta, The writing pad

Näitä kirjoitusalustoja tarvikkeineen olen tehnyt muutaman kappaleen. Itse alusta on ohuen ohutta nahkaa. Kynän olen tehnyt nuppineulasta, helmestä ja teipistä. Omena on Fimoa. Omenassa on karakin ja yksi pieni lehti.

I have made the writing pads with accessories several pieces. The pad I have made from very, very thin leather. The pen's materials are pin, pearl and tape. The Fimo-apple has also a dried branch and one little leaf.

Työhuoneen matto, The Workroom's carpet

Muistan luultavasti oikein, että työhuoneen maton olen ostanut Minimaailmasta. Vuosia ostoksesta on jo muutama, joten en tiedä, onko juuri tätä mallia vielä valikoimissa. Maton koko on 13,0 x 9,5 cm.

I think that I remember correctly that I have bought the workroom's carpet from Minimaailma several years ago. So I don't know is just this design still in the product range. The measures of the carpet are 13,0 x 9,5 cm.

Televisio työhuoneeseen, TV set for the workroom

Suunnittelin tätä televisiota työhuoneeseen, mutta saattaa käydä niin, ettei se mahdu sinne. Vaihdoin kuvaruutuun kuvaksi Tampereen Särkänniemestä otetun valokuvan (=lehtileike). Muovisen kuvaruudun irrottaminen onnistui, mutta varovainen pitää olla, ettei kova muovi mene rikki. Televio on myös teroitin.

I planned this television set for the workroom, but maybe there isn't enough room for it. I changed the picture on the screen. The photo (cut from magazine) is taken from Särkänniemi (Tampere). I managed take off the plastic screen, but one must lift it very carefully. So the hard plastic doesn't crack. The TV set is also a sharpener.

Työhuoneen pöytä nro 1, The Workroom's desk number 1

Aika päiviä sitten rakentelin tämän kirjoituspöydän, jossa on osana myös pieni kirjahyllykkö. Olen tehnyt pöydän vanerista ja maalannut akryylimaalilla.
Hyllykössä on muutama ostokirja ja lisäksi itse tehtyjä opuksia.

Very long time ago I made this desk, which has as a part little bookcase. The materials are plywood and acrylic paint.
On the bookcase there are some books, which I have bought and some self-made ones.

Työhuoneen kirjahyllyt, The workroom's bookcases

Aina silloin tällöin olen leikannut ja liimannut kirjoja kirjakerhon lehtien kuvista ja kartongista. Nyt sain täyteen työhuoneen kirjahyllyt. Hyllyt olen ostanut Minimum World - nimisestä kaupasta.

Now and then I have cut and glued books from the bookclub's magazines' pictures and cardboard. Now I got enough to fill the bookcases of the workroom. The bookcases I have bought from Minimum World.

Pääsiäisyllätyksiä, The Easter Surprises

Sain vihreän hirviön Pääsiäisyllätyksenä tänä vuonna. Pienet silmälasit ovat olleet aiemmin saadun yllätyksen osana. Silmälasit olen ajatellut sijoittaa Villa Ainon työhuoneen pöydälle. Ne ovat aivan mittakaavaa 1:12. Hirviölle en taida koskaan keskiä käyttöä.

I got this year as the Easter Surprise this green monster. The eyeglasses I have got earlier as a part of the surprise. I think I put the glasses on Villa Aino's workroom's table. They are just scale 1:12. I am quite sure that I don't find place for the monster.

Nojatuolit työhuoneeseen, The Workroom's chairs

Freida Grayn kirjassa Dolls' House Furniture on myös näiden nojatuolien ohje. Koska leposohva tuntui minusta isolta, niin pienensin tuolin ohjetta 10 %. Nyt olen tyytyväinen mittakaavaan.
Puurungon lisäksi materiaaleina ovat pahvi, vanulevy, flanelli ja kangas. Olin yllättynyt, kun löysin tällaista 1:12 mittakaavaan sopivaa kangasta Eurokankaasta Lempäälän Ideaparkista.
Tuolien paikaksi ajattelin Villa Ainon työhuonetta.

In Freida Gray's book Dolls' House Furniture there is also the instruction of these chairs. Because I felt that the divan was quite big I reduced the measures of the chair 10 %. Now I am happy with the scale.
The materials for the chair are wooden frame, card board, wadding sheet, flannel and fabric. I was surprised when I found this kind of 1:12 scale fabric in Eurokangas (textile shop in Lempäälä's Ideapark shopping centre).
I think that I put the chairs to Villa Aino's workroom.
