Täällä pitkän ajan jälkeen, Here at last

En olisi uskonut, että tästä tauosta tulee näin pitkä, mutta tällaista elämä välillä on. Olen mineillyt jonkin verran, mutta tänne blogiin asti en ole päässyt. Nyt olen saanut valmiiksi kuvat pesutuvasta ja kuivaushuoneesta. Tein ne Nukkekotiyhdistyksen 25-vuotis juhlanäyttelyyn. Saatoit nähdä ne Tampereen näyttelyssä, vaikka ensimmäisen kerroksen tiloihin ei ollut kumartelematta helppo nähdä.

Tein pesutupaan ja kuivaushuoneeseen kaiken itse lukuunottamatta kuivaushuoneessa olevaa nukkea. Nukke oli alunperin 1900-luvun alun vaatteisiin puettu ja ruskeatukkainen kiharapää. Hankin sen Doloresilta. Ompelin nukelle collegepuseron, housut ja nykersin jalkineet. Hiukset ovat kirjontalangasta. Kasvojakin hieman meikkasin maalilla. 

Tein näitä huoneita muistellen viime vuonna kuollutta hyvää ystävääni. Hän oli viiden lapsen yksinhuoltajana varsinainen arjen sankari. Sijoitin hänet mankelin viereen ja lähelle pyykkikorin, joka on täynnä puhtaita vaatteita. 

Päädyin lahjoittamaan huoneet Nukkekotiyhdistykselle. Saatat siis nähdä huoneet "livenä" jonkin tulevan näyttelyn yhteydessä.

It is difficult to believe that there has been so  long time since I wrote here, but life is sometimes like this. I have made some miniatures, but I hadn't time enough to do all the things which the blog demands for.

Now I got ready the photos of the laundry room and the drying room. I made them to the Finnish Dolls' House Association's Jubilee Exhibition in Tampere. The Association is now 25 years old.

At the exhibition there were among all the other houses and miniatures three blocks of flats. These two rooms were part of one of those big houses.

I made all the furnitures and machines etc. to the laundry and the drying room by myself except the doll. She had orginally clothes from the beginning of the 2000 century and curly, brown hair. I sewed to the doll new collage blouse, trousers and made tiny shoes. New hair I made from the embroidery threads. I also applied little make up (=paint) to her face.

I made these two rooms remembering my very dear friend, who died last year. As a single parent with five children she was the real heroine of everyday life. So she is standing by the mangle with the basket full of clean clothes. 

I decided to donate these rooms to the Dolls' House Association, so you'll see them at some exhibition in the future.
