Hallin kaide, The Hall's rail

Hallin tasanteen kaide on hyvä jättää irralliseksi. On helpompi, kun pitää järjestellä huonekaluja tai siivota huonetta.
Kaide on tehty valmiista pylväistä ja jäätelötikuista. Maalasin sen Plaidin antiikinvalkoisella akryylimaalilla.

The hall's landing rail is best left freestanding. It is easier when you adjust furniture or clean the room.
I made the rail from ready-made posts and ice cream sticks. The paint is Plaid's Antique White acrylic paint.

Hallin verho, The hall's curtain

Hallin ikkunaan tein tällaisen kapan ja verhotangon; pitsiä, kullanväristä lankaa, cocktail-tikku ja kaksi helmeä. Tosi helppoa!

This pelmet and curtain rod are for the hall's window; lace, golden thread, cocktail stick and two pearls. Very easy!

Vauhdikas postimerkki, The Speedy stamp

Näin vauhdikasta postia sain muutama päivä sitten!

I got so speedy mail some days ago!
In the stamp there is the poster made by famous Finnish artist Akseli Galle'n-Kallela.

Hallin matot, The Hall's carpets

Hallin mattojen keskiosat ovat kangasta ja reunat olen kirjonut puoliristipistoilla. Liimasin kankaan ensin paikoilleen kirjontakankaaseen ja sen jälkeen tein reunan. Työn voi tehdä myös päinvastoin.

The centre parts of the hall's carpets are fabric and the borders I have embroidered with half cross stitch. I glued first the fabric on embroidery canvas and then stitched the border. It is possible to work also vice versa.

Hallin tuolit, The Hall's chairs

Nämä hassut tuolit kuuluvat hallin kalustukseen. Olen tehnyt myös nämä Sheila Smithin ohjeilla.

These funny chairs go to the hall. I have made also them after Sheila Smith's instructions.

Koiratauluja, The Dog pictures

Toisen kerroksen halliin päätin tehdä koirien kuvista "gallerian". Nämä kuvat ovat Postimerkkikeskusen luettelosta. Ne on mielestäni erittäin upeasti piirretty / maalattu.
Laminoin kuvat, jotta ne kestäisivät ja kehystin ne tarrakuvionauhoilla.

To the first floor's hall I decided to make "the gallery" of dog pictures. Those pictures are from Postimerkkikeskus's catalogue. They are really fine drawings / paintings.
I laminated the paper pictures, so they are durable. After that I framed them with the peel-off motifs.

Villa Ainon koirat, Villa Aino's dogs

Villa Ainossa asuu useita koiria. Koirakoreja olen tehnyt Sheila Smithin ohjeilla (kirjassa Making 1/12 Scale Wicker Furniture ...). Kahdella koiralla on jo omat korinsa, mutta kolmas puuttuu. Korit ovat melkoisen suuritöisiä.

At Villa Aino live several dogs. The dog baskets I have made following Sheila Smith's instructions (book's name is Making 1/12 Scale Wicker Furniture...). Two of the dogs have already their own baskets, but the third basket is lacking. These are quite laborous to make.

Orkidea, The Orchid

Orkideani on alkanut kukkia! Sain kukan syntymäpäivälahjaksi viime syksynä. Se oli monta kuukautta aivan kalju. Ja nyt tällaiset kukat.

My orchid has begun to blossom! I got this plant last autumn as a birthday present. It has been entirely bald many months. And now this kind of flowers.

Kirjoitusalusta nro 2, The writing pad number 2

Tässä toinen versio kirjoitusalustasta. Olen tehnhyt siihen mukaan pienen kirjan.

This is another version of the writing pad. Now on it is also the little book, which I have made.

Uusia varusteita työhuoneeseen, Some new equipment to the workroom

Tässä työhuoneen uusia varusteita.
Lisäsin paperit tulostimeen. Liimasin ne Aleene's Tacky Gluella.
Fimosta sai yllättävän aidonnäköistä suklaata.
Paperikoria tein liki kolme tuntia. Tämä taitaa olla viides versio!

Here are some new equipment for the workroom.
I added paper to the printer. I glued it with Aleene's Tacky Glue.
I think that the "Fimo-chocolate" seems quite realistic.
It took almost three hours to make that waste-paper basket. This is the fifth version!

Työhuoneen pöytä nro 2 ja työtuoli, The Workroom's desk number 2 and the chair

Tämän pöydän ja tuolin olen ostanut Minimum Worldistä. Pöydän päällä oli suhteettoman suuri näyttöruutu. Lisälevyn päällä oli näppäimistö ja kaapin alahyllyllä keskusyksikkö. Otin ne kaikki pois. Seurauksena liiman raapusta ja maalausta. Onnistuin kuitenkin sekoittamaan oranssista ja ruskeasta melko samanvärisen maalin kuin alkuperäinen petsauskin on.

I have bought the desk and the chair from Minimum World. On the desk there was really big monitor, below it the keyboard and on the shelf the case of the desktop computer. I took all the parts away. As a consequence I had to rub out glue and paint those surfaces. Anyhow I managed mix the paint almost same as the original colour from orange and brown.

Makuuhuoneen ikkunaan koriste, The Decoration to the bedroom's window

Äitini löysi tällaisen korvakorun osan aika päiviä sitten. Olen itsekin säilyttänyt sitä varmaankin 10 vuotta. Nyt tein siitä koristeen Villa Ainon makuuhuoneen ikkunaan.

My mother has found this part of earring very, very long time ago. I have also kept it no doubt 10 years. Now I made of it this decoration to the Villa Aino's bedroom's window.

Makuuhuoneen verhot, The bedroom's curtains

Vihdoin olen saanut valmiiksi makuuhuoneen verhot. Ne eivät laskeudu ihan niin hyvin kuin toivon, mutta tämä on tätä aina kankaiden kanssa. Verhot ovat valkoista batistia ja rusetit kaksi millimetriä leveää silkkinauhaa. Kankaan olen ostanut paikallisesta kangasputiikista ja silkkinauhan Doloresilta.

At last I got ready the bedroom's curtains. They don't drape as well as I wish, but this is it always with fabrics. The curtains are white batiste and the bows are made of two millimetres wide silk ribbon. I have bought the fabric from the local haberdashery and the silk ribbon is from Dolores.

Sinivuokkoja, Blue wood anemones

Kirjoitusalusta, The writing pad

Näitä kirjoitusalustoja tarvikkeineen olen tehnyt muutaman kappaleen. Itse alusta on ohuen ohutta nahkaa. Kynän olen tehnyt nuppineulasta, helmestä ja teipistä. Omena on Fimoa. Omenassa on karakin ja yksi pieni lehti.

I have made the writing pads with accessories several pieces. The pad I have made from very, very thin leather. The pen's materials are pin, pearl and tape. The Fimo-apple has also a dried branch and one little leaf.

Työhuoneen matto, The Workroom's carpet

Muistan luultavasti oikein, että työhuoneen maton olen ostanut Minimaailmasta. Vuosia ostoksesta on jo muutama, joten en tiedä, onko juuri tätä mallia vielä valikoimissa. Maton koko on 13,0 x 9,5 cm.

I think that I remember correctly that I have bought the workroom's carpet from Minimaailma several years ago. So I don't know is just this design still in the product range. The measures of the carpet are 13,0 x 9,5 cm.

Televisio työhuoneeseen, TV set for the workroom

Suunnittelin tätä televisiota työhuoneeseen, mutta saattaa käydä niin, ettei se mahdu sinne. Vaihdoin kuvaruutuun kuvaksi Tampereen Särkänniemestä otetun valokuvan (=lehtileike). Muovisen kuvaruudun irrottaminen onnistui, mutta varovainen pitää olla, ettei kova muovi mene rikki. Televio on myös teroitin.

I planned this television set for the workroom, but maybe there isn't enough room for it. I changed the picture on the screen. The photo (cut from magazine) is taken from Särkänniemi (Tampere). I managed take off the plastic screen, but one must lift it very carefully. So the hard plastic doesn't crack. The TV set is also a sharpener.
